As our body connects to all things, the arts including painting/music/architecture/acting..., are influence each other, and the history of keyboard also makes an broken line, so we can not cut it. This is the reason why I continue to play Keyboards from every period.
Sayuri Nagoya is a keyboard player who focuses on the connection between harpsichord and pianoforte.
Born in Tokyo, she grew up in an environment full of art playing violin, clarinet, singing and dancing, also creating picture books. She studied modern piano with Minoru Nojima at the Toho Gakuen Graduate School. After writing her master's thesis on the subject of keyboard history, she was inspired by the historical instruments and started to study the harpsichord. ( In 2011, graduated with Research course diploma.)
From 2011, she began her pianoforte study at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels as scholarship student of the government of Belgium. She performed the double concerto of C. Ph. E Bach (Wq. 47 H.479, Conductor: Paul Dombrecht) and Haydn (Hob. XVIII/ 6, Without conductor) as a soloiste. In 2014 she obtained Master Diploma pianoforte with Great distinction and also high markes as chamber music player.
She is the prizewinner of the 3rd Rosenstock International piano competition (Modern piano) and the 2nd Rome Fortepiano International Competition, the 4th International Geelvinck Fortepiano Concours and the Square Piano Award, the Harpsichord competition “Wedstrijd Vlaamse Klavecimbeldag”. As the prizewinner, she performed for broadcast on Dutch Radio 4. She participated in the Festival resonances in Belgium and the Wunderkammer Festival in Italy, also performed several recitals included at the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, the Accademia Bartolomeo Cristfori, Bozar etc. as pianoforte and harpsichord player. As a Basso continue player, she is also active to perform several famous music festivals in Europe and Japan. She is an accompanist of the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. In 2022 She released her first CD with the works by Anton Eberl from the BRILLIANT CLASSICS.
She studied Modern piano with prof. Suzuko Sato, Joko Gondo, and Minoru Nojima, harpsichord with prof. Chiyoko Arita, Ewald Demeyere, Kris Verhelst and Herman Stinders, pianoforte with prof. Piet Kuijken, Boyan Vodenitcharovthe and Bart Van Oort, Chamber music with prof. Kazuoki Fujii, Ryo Terakado, Masahiro Arita.
私たちの身体が万物とつながっているように、絵画、音楽、建築や演劇を含む”芸術”も様々な要素が関り合い、そこに作品は生まれます。そして鍵盤楽器の歴史も同じく一つに繋がっているので、我々は時代を切り離して考えることはできません。全ての時代の楽器を弾き続ける理由はここにあります。
4歳よりピアノを始める。幼い頃からヴァイオリン、クラリネット、歌、ダンスなどに親しむと共に、絵本を書くなど、表現をすることに対して深く関心の目を向ける。桐朋学園女子高等学校、桐朋学園大学、桐朋学園大学院大学を修了。モダンピアニストとして、ローゼンストック国際ピアノコンクール優勝等数々の賞を得て演奏活動を行っていたが、修士論文「ピアノの変遷史について」を書いたことを切っ掛けに、作曲家自身が当時使っていた”歴史楽器”に興味を持ち、チェンバロをはじめる。その後、ベルギー政府の奨学生として ブリュッセル王立音楽院フォルテピアノ科を特別栄誉賞付きディプロムを得て修了、室内楽奏者としても高い評価を受ける。
2014年、ヘールフィンク国際フォルテピアノ・コンクール入賞、併せてスクエア・ピアノ・アワード入賞、受賞者として収録した演奏がオランダのクラシック専用チャンネル”Radio4”で放送される。この コンクールのレポートは月刊「ショパン」に掲載された。2015年、ローマ・フォルテピアノ国際コンクール〈M. クレメンティ賞〉優勝。2016年にイタリアのトリエステで行われた The WunderKammer Festival に招聘されたのを皮切りに、The Festival resonances（ベルギー）への参加やアントワープの歴史的なホールAmuzでの演奏会、ローマのAccademia Filarmonica RomanaやフィレンツェのAccademia Bartolomeo Cristfori、ブリュッセルのBozar にてリサイタルを行うと共に、通奏低音奏者としても数多くの音楽祭に参加するなど、フォルテピアニストまたチェンバリストとして現在ブリュッセルに拠点を置きながら、ヨーロッパを中心に積極的な演奏活動を行っている。2019 年、チェンバロ・コンペティション"Wedstrijd Vlaamse Klavecimbeldag" にて２位受賞。またフォルテピアニストとして2022年にアントン・エーベルルの作品を集めたデビューアルバムをBRILLIANT CLASSICSより発売。ブリュッセル王立音楽院にて伴奏員を務める。
これまでにピアノを佐藤鈴子、権藤譲子、野島稔の各氏に、チェンバロを有田千代 子、Ewald Demeyere 、Kris Verhelst、Herman Stindersの各氏に、フォルテピ アノをPiet Kuijken 、Boyan Vodenitcharov、Bart Van Oortの各氏に、室内楽 を藤井一興、岩崎淑、寺神戸亮、有田正広の各氏に師事。
